An excellent visual experience: English Harbor’s Pay Dirt progressive slot game give the player a wonderful experience. It’s a game that’s as much fun to look at as it is to play. From the scroll-work background, based on the style of the one-dollar bill, to the funny “eyed” pyramids that come up on the reels, this game will grab your attention.
And it should do so, because if you get three fistfuls of dollars on the payline, you’ve hit the jackpot! Just like the old movie, a fistful of dollars is what everyone’s looking for. Get it here, and you’ve hit Pay Dirt.
A winning game: Hitting pay dirt on Pay Dirt is what it’s all about. The main jackpot, even if you only play one coin, is 1000 coins; on a game that uses $1 coins, that’s an excellent win. Play two coins, and the jackpot doubles. But if you play 3 coins, you’re playing for the progressive jackpot, and that is where the winning potential really comes into play.
At the time of this review, the progressive on Pay Dirt stands at over $200,000; an impressive win for any game. You can only hit it, though, if you play 3 coins. Other winning symbols come up pretty frequently; eyed pyramids appearing singly or in pairs on the payline, will pay 2 and 10 coins, and three cherries in a row pay 5 coins. The small wins are enough to keep you playing without having to make frequent deposits.
It’s a traditional slot game: Pay Dirt is a traditional, 3-reel, single payline slot game. There’s nothing wrong with this, but it does mean that the game lacks the complexity of the 5- or 7-reel, 12 or 20 payline games. In some ways, it’s better. Pay Dirt is easy to read, and the paytable is listed right above the reels. You never have to guess if or what you may have won.
Pay Dirt offers no choice in coin value: every coin is $1. You can choose to play 1, 2, or 3 coins, but unless you play 3, you aren’t in it for the progressive win. If you’re looking for excitement, though, this is your game.
