Slot Machine Revenue Up in Pennsylvania
Casinos in Pennsylvania have a lot to celebrate after such a successful year. After the gross revenue has been totalled, it shows that Pennsylvania has again had a productive year in the casino gaming industry.
Total Revenue Increase
One of the first casino’s in the state was started in 2006 and since then profits have steadily risen each year. Since 2006, there are now 11 casinos that operate within Pennsylvania. The last gross revenue for these different casinos was a total of $2.5 billion. This definitely an increase in revenue from the previous gross amount of $2.4 billion. That is a change of at least 2.7 percent.
The increase in revenue was partly because of the new gaming place called Valley Forge Casino. This is the most recent casino and it was responsible for grossing at least $36.5 million in slots revenue. Based on this, it can be seen that the remaining 10 casinos had an increase in gross revenue that equalled 1.2 percent.
Pennsylvania Slots Going Strong
Chairman of the Gaming Board, William Ryan said that there has been an increase in slots revenue for the past six years. The state is under increasing competition from other neighboring states. However, even with increased competition from other states, Ryan said that revenue amounts were still strong.
