Microgaming has just introduced a brand new slot game which, upon reflection, is a new theme that is rarely seen. The Great Albini Slots may not rival the Great Houdini or even David Copperfield; but this slot game has some very unique surprises you’ve never seen before.
About the Game
The Great Albini stands to the left of the slot at the beginning of the game. This 5-reel, 25-payline slot changes in the blink of an eye. But what caught our attention is that before you play the game, Albini is shuffling cards while all of the symbols on the reels, except one, are chained boxes. When he finally throws out a card, all of the boxes open to reveal winning symbols. The Great Albini Slots is perhaps one of the most entertaining and unique slot games we have encountered. It includes some fantastic features including Wilds, Wild Reels, Free Spins, and the Mystery Box Re-Spins. Considered a “vintage” slot, the slot appears on a stage, with Albini’s lovely assistant Lily.
The Mystery Box Re-Spin Feature
One of the special features in this slot game is the Mystery Box Re-spin feature which is activated when a stack of three Mystery Box symbols appears on the middle reel in the 5x3 grid base game. With the symbols locked into place until the end of the round, players are awarded a total of three re-spins to try to lock another mystery box. The number of re-spins will then reset to three with each subsequent Mystery Box symbol on the reels during the round. The re-spin feature finishes when the player runs out of re-spins or fills the entire reel-set with mystery boxes. The Great Albini will then reveal the one symbol that will be inside each Mystery Box.
Another Surprise Event: The Free Spins Bonus
When you get a giant 3x3 Free Spins bonus symbol across reels 2, 3 and 4, the Great Albini will transform the stage and convert the grid to a 5x6 format and increasing the number of pay lines to 50. This is an amazing trick! At this point, Lily will appear on stage, and players are awarded 12 free spins. During the free spins round, the Great Albini may cause Lily to vanish in a magic feat. Players will suddenly see a 1x6 vertical Lily Wild symbol randomly appear on one of the three center reels. This wild reel has a 2x multiplier on all wins. A re-spin will occur for each continuous winning combination with the Lily Wild symbol locked in position until no win occurs. The Lily feature can be retriggered within free spins.
One More Magic Act: The Bonus Box Feature
The brand new Bonus Box feature is available throughout the base game, and will give players the option to purchase 8, 10 or 12 free spins with the Lily feature at any point.

Here’s a bit of Trivia for those of you who want to know about the top two Magicians in the world.
“Harry Houdini, who was active in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, is most famous for being an escape artist. He gained fame by touring Europe, asking different police forces to lock him up at every stop. He would go on to escape a straitjacket while hanging off a skyscraper, a straitjacket from underwater, and being buried alive, which he reportedly barely survived. The circumstances of his death in 1926 are fittingly dramatic, as a popular story says a college student asked Houdini if his stomach could withstand any punch. Houdini died a few days later from peritonitis, from a ruptured appendix.”
“David Copperfield’s long, illustrious career has allowed him to become the most successful solo entertainer in history. At 19, he was headlining a show in a large hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was approached by ABC in 1977 to produce a magic special. In his specials, Copperfield made the Statue of Liberty disappear, floated over the Grand Canyon, and walked through the Great Wall of China. At the age of 56, Copperfield still performs many shows a week. He was one of the first magicians to successfully combine amazing magic tricks with great storytelling.”
