Viking Reels is a stunning, viking explorer themed game that draws its inspiration from one of histories most fascinating cultures. It's hard to pinpoint what began the whole viking trend in the first place, but its lasting impact is undeniable. Similar to Greek mythology themed games, and ancient Egyptian society based games, viking games are all the rage and captivate the minds and imaginations of all who seem to play them.  

Theme

 Graphically, the beauty of this slot is undeniable. The game is played against a gray background. It's as if the reel takes place in a gray ocean in the middle of a chaotic storm. The sort of storm that was likely created by the gods themselves! In the background, you can see tall mountains, and the ocean is even partially animated. It is subtle, however. The designs are elaborately detailed, taking on a realistic, almost ominous quality. To the left of the game grid, there is an ancient map. Below the map, there is a small control panel where you can use the + and - symbols to adjust your stake. There is also a viking longboat treading the waters beneath the transparent reels. There is a single spin button and a + button that will expand a miniature menu, where you can preset some auto spins or change the speed of the reels. From there, you can also open a settings menu.

Symbols

 The wild symbol is represented as a viking hammer, and it operates as most wild symbols do. It can substitute for all other symbols on the reels except for the special symbols. The random wilds symbols are not usable during the Viking Voyage feature, which I'll discuss in more detail below. The top paying symbol is the redheaded bearded man, followed by the blonde warrior woman, the blonde warrior man and the man with the horned helmet. The low paying symbols are represented as all none-human symbols, such as the helmet, and the runes.

Special Features

 The Viking Voyage Feature is a delight. On the left side of the game grid, there is the map I previously mentioned. The ultimate aim of this game is to make is across the map, and the X marks the spot of unlimited free spins. Each time a new high valued symbol lands fully stacked on the reels, 1 point will be added. The longboat on the map will move as you accumulate points, and there are 50 total points. When the longboat lands on the X, the Unlimited Free Spins begin. 

The Unlimited Free Spins will only stop after you collect three axe symbols on the fifth reel. Axe symbols only make an appearance during the free spins, and do not appear during regular rounds. Each time an axe symbol appears during a regular free spins on the fifth reel, you'll receive an instant payout. When the first axe symbol lands, you'll receive 2x to 10x your total bet. When the second axe symbol lands, you'll receive 2x to 25x your bet, and when the third axe symbol lands you'll receive 3x to 100x your bet. The size will depend on the number of axes in the queue of the free game. This slot also has a Multiplier Feature, which appears during the free games. Before the free spins begin, you'll be presented with a Pick Screen, and one of the four vikings presented to you will become a wild symbol for the free spins round. This symbol will have a multiplier attached, and will expand at times! As you can tell, they didn't hold back when it came to special features and elaborate rewards.
