In addition, we believe that personal privacy is necessary for core human values like dignity, intimacy, and morality.” Thus, Zcash is a decentralized and open source cryptocurrency. It shields transactions by hiding the sender, recipient, and value on the blockchain. One of the great analogies Zcash uses is this: If Bitcoin is like http for money; then Zcash is https for a secure transport layer.
