BetMGM Launches World Cup Contest Featuring New York Travel Prizes
BetMGM is putting a World Cup-sized prize pool on the table with a new sweepstakes built around an NYC getaway - and it’s powered by a partnership with Marriott Bonvoy.
BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy team up for a World Cup sweepstakes with NYC on the line
The promotion runs through June 21, 2026, giving eligible players a shot at a July trip to New York City tied to Sports Illustrated’s “Beyond the Pitch” Party series, which wraps with a major event in NYC on July 18.
To qualify, players need to link their BetMGM and Marriott Bonvoy accounts, then place at least a $10 wager. Entries are submitted through the BetMGM Sportsbook app or website after the accounts are connected. Each entry period allows up to 25 entries, and winners are selected weekly throughout the promo window.
What you can win: VIP access, travel, and a three-night NYC stay
BetMGM is leaning hard into experience-based prizes here, with the top tier designed to feel like a full weekend package instead of a simple cash drop.
Ten grand prize winners can bring a guest and receive VIP event access, round-trip travel to New York City (or travel funds), a three-night stay at Moxy Lower East Side, plus dinner at L’Artusi Supper Club. On top of that, 30 additional participants will land a $100 bonus bet.
Even if you don’t hit the weekly winner list, there’s still value for jumping in early - all entrants who register at least one entry receive 2,500 Marriott Bonvoy points.
BetMGM: “legendary experiences…inside the velvet ropes”
BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost positioned the sweepstakes as part of a bigger push toward premium fan access during a massive sports moment.
“At BetMGM, we're always looking for ways to reward our players with legendary experiences they simply can't get anywhere else. Partnering with Marriott Bonvoy for this event allows us to bring fans inside the velvet ropes during a once-in-a-generation moment on the global sports stage,” Prevost said.
Why World Cup betting in the US is set to spike in 2026
The timing of this promotion isn’t random. Deutsche Bank projects World Cup betting handle in the US could reach $3.3 billion, with estimates ranging from $2.5 billion to $4.1 billion. Projections cited in the same outlook peg FanDuel at $1.3 billion, DraftKings at $1.1 billion, and BetMGM around $250 million.
Several factors are lining up to push volume higher than 2022: the 2026 World Cup expands to 104 matches (up from 64), games will be played in North American time zones, and legal online sports betting access in the US has grown to roughly 135 million adults (up from 104 million in 2022).
The promo fits BetMGM’s bigger playbook - and there are other offers to stack
The sweepstakes also matches BetMGM’s broader strategy of selling itself as an entertainment-first brand with a sportsbook component, highlighted by recent moves like a Bragg Gaming slot content deal and the upcoming “The Lion’s Share” branded game on CBS’s “The Price Is Right,” debuting Sept. 22.
Players checking out the brand can also review current welcome promotions and bonus options via BetMGM Casino while the World Cup contest entry window is still open through June 21, 2026.
