Two days ago, I posted on Facebook that legalizing online gambling was very much at stake in this election. To my shock and disappointment, we now face a real possibility that with the new president, the Senate, and the House are all Republican, there is a real chance that states that are seeing to legalize online gambling will lose. Thus, online gambling as a whole is now in jeopardy.
How Did We Get Here?
Most Americans who voted for the president elect got us here. This man is a bully. He is a mean-spirited, mysogynist, sexual predator who lied throughout the campaign. And the worse part is Americans bought it all. Their anger increased after President Obama was elected. The president-elect fed into their fear and anger and brought it out in the open and politizied it; expounded on it; and used it to further his own political agenda. He is a business man who hasn’t paid taxes in 18 years. He is a vengeful person, an arrogant person, and a man who only cares about himself. And yet, Americans voted for him. All of the progress we have made over the last eight years is now gone. The president elect will appoint a Supreme Court Justice to ensure Roe vs. Wade is overturned; he will ensure that the Planned Parenthood facilities are closed; he will repeal the Affordable Care Act, and more. This is a man who “loves war;” who is a friend of Putin; who “wants to bomb the s***” out of countries that house terrorists; who wants to “punish” women who have abortions; who has no respect for women unless they fall in his 1 to 10 scale; who wants to deport immigrants; who wants to build a wall to keep out immigrants; and more. This is the man you voted for. Shame on all of you! Those of you who voted for this con artist will pay the price. And make no mistake - there will be a price to be paid.
The Future of Online Gambling
As for the future of online gambling, I believe it is in jeopardy as well. Remember that Adelson gave $100 million dollars to the republican campaign. Most republicans are against online gambling. They now control everything. Do you really believe they are going to pass legislation to allow online gambling? I think not.
The Future of America
Today, all across the world, many people are in shock. The stock market is tumbling, and people are afraid. Today, the legacy of Barak Obama has been smeared and denigrated, just as he was when he was first elected. Today, the most powerful nation on this earth has died. And those of us who love this country and all it stood for are mourning the loss.
