The Exciting World of Atlantic City

There are many cities that have tried to reinvent themselves during the last century, but few cities have undergone as remarkable a transformation as the city of Atlantic City, New Jersey.

During the 1970s, Atlantic City was known as much for its urban blight and its crime as it was for its once famous boardwalk.

The city was clearly in decline, and city leaders and the population in general were looking for a fresh start. That fresh start came in the form of legalized gambling, and less than a decade later the Atlantic City boardwalk was home to some of the most famous hotel casinos in the country, and full of the classiest slots machines in the East coast.

While Las Vegas was still clearly the king of the gambling world, Atlantic City had come into its own, bringing jobs and a new hope to the area. Perhaps no city outside of New York has been changed as much by Donald Trump, and the Trump brand graces no less than three casinos in Atlantic City.

The Trump brand was one of the first to open when Atlantic City legalized gaming, but there are hotels and casinos owned by all the big brands here. Of course the original attractions that made Atlantic City such a popular resort are still here as well, including the boardwalk and the amusement parks.

Every kind of fast food, from hot dogs and hamburgers to ice cream and funnel cakes, can be found along the famous Atlantic City boardwalk, and the beach is still a popular place for swimming, sunbathing or just people watching.

The Atlantic City casinos and hotels are also home to some fine sit down restaurants, in addition to the buffets and casual dining restaurants that dot the boardwalk and the casinos. At the popularity of Atlantic City has grown, so too have the number of restaurant choices. In addition, the Atlantic City hotels and casinos are home to some excellent concerts and other performers, and gamblers and non-gamblers alike continue to flock to this entertainment destination, spending billions of dollars with cash, eCheck, Neteller, and credit card payments.
