Claire Renaut Wins First Bodog Anonymous Live Event
This week saw the first Bodog Network Anonymous Poker Series live qualifier played in London. This is a long series, a year long in fact and the thinking behind it is to give a little limelight to the new network and it's different type of tables. Bodog launched the Anonymous tables on their network a short time ago and in all honesty it didn't go down all that well, however with time now past and observers having taken a better look at the model then it's won over more than a few people. In fact many operators are now taking Bodog's lead and changing things up a little. This was a small invite only event made up mainly of players who had gone out of the EPT event and they were there to throw a few cards around and enjoy the party. There was however a pretty decent prize up for grabs with a $6,600 package to the series finale in Manila.
Great Atmosphere and Strange Prizes
Tatjana Pasalic the Bodog pro poker presenter was there to mingle a little and said, “I loved the idea and was very pleasantly surprised with the outcome. It was nice to get away from the casino and enjoy a family-like atmosphere. Wish there were more events like this!” And it was the party atmosphere that this private affair was all about and to a certain extent the poker was secondary, think of it as a celebration of Bodog's Anonymous tables. There were also a few novelty prizes given to the players which included a Phil Taylor signed dart board and an Ayr United soccer shirt - Calvin's favorite team and that went to Jack Ellwood who later tweeted, “Turned up at a bodog party and ended up in a freeroll with a trip to Manila for the winner. I busted first which earned me an Ayr united kit”. The winner Ms Claire Renaut took the main prize, a trip for two to Manila and she was over the moon saying, “It was a really great night, with tons of champagne, nice people, great atmosphere and I’m so happy I won it! Especially considering that some serious sharks were playing…but what I like the most is that when waking up this morning, I had no idea I would play this sit’n'go and, more importantly, no idea I would fly to Manila with Fabrice next year! Thanks again Bodog !” Running at exactly the same time was a B2B live qualifier in Macau and as the tables were anonymous, all we can tell you is that Anonymous player number 2 won it!
