Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Vancouver

The expansion of one of the most icon brand names in North American entertainment and land-based casinos is coming to the one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Vancouver, British Columbia Canada. Later this year the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will open up its doors after a million dollar renovation is completed in the booming city of Coquitlam. Currently the location of the casino is situated on the Boulevard Casino property that is located outside of the major city core but still a growing city within the Lower Mainland. The plan for the Hard Rock is to feature a major casino floor, theater and hotel along with seven new restaurants. The main attractions will be the three live music venues along with the collection of historical Rock and Roll memorabilia from Canadian rock musicians both new and old; "This new multi-million dollar renovation and rebranding will create an iconic entertainment environment offering, 'everything you go out for'," said Howard Blank, vice president of Great Canadian Gaming Corporation. "We look forward to presenting the very best of gaming, music, fun and dining; everyone will be treated like a rock star, whether you are 19 or 99."

Of course gaming will be a major attraction to the venue with a full casino floor including black jack, roulette, and 950 state-of-the-art interactive slot machines. The total gaming floor space will be 80,000 feet of fun filled casino excitement with VIP high limit salon's, baccarat, craps and every popular casino game gamers can get their hands on. It will be the Great Canadian Gaming Corporation that will be the official owners and operators who also own the award winning River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, B.C. This is welcoming news for the city of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland as it was just a few months ago that the city of Surrey turned down a proposal to build a major land based casino. It didn't take the city of Coquitlam too long to become the next resort and casino destination and capitalize on what Surrey lost out on. The city of Vancouver was just waiting for another large land based casino as well after city council turned down development of a large casino next to BC Place Stadium. All it took was for the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino brand to find a partner in the area and that's just happened to be in Coquitlam. Many years ago, there was a Hard Rock restaurant in the city center of Vancouver, but that didn't have a casino. There was obviously a major component missing and that was the casino. The project is essentially a rebranding of the Boulevard Casino but bringing in the Hard Rock atmosphere was exactly what they needed to revive the casino and take it too another level; on its way to becoming a major resort attraction. The property will employ about 700 people when it's up and running and the millions they spend on development will create even more jobs. The Hard Rock organization sounds committed to making the new casino work and will be investing to make it a success and part of the overall international brand; "We are excited for the addition of Hard Rock Casino Vancouver to our growing family," said Jody Lake, chief operating officer for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. "This expansion is another testament to the strength of the Hard Rock Casino brand." What else makes this establishment unique is that it is the first gaming property that will be themed with keepsakes from iconic Canadian musicians that have put Vancouver on the world map as far as world-class musicians that have come from the area and are still popular today. The Great Canadian Casino Company operates several major gaming destinations in BC including: River Rock Casino Resort, Hastings Racecourse and Slots, Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino, View Royal Casino, Casino Nanaimo, Chances Dawson Creek and Chances Chilliwack and the Maple Ridge Community Gaming Centre. It also operates casinos in Ontario, Nova Scotia and Washington State.

The Hard Rock brand name has for years been synonymous with the Las Vegas strip and the major resort it has located there. It also has locations in Oklahoma, Illinois, Louisiana, Houston and Iowa. The locations are famous for attracting some of the biggest names in the music industry including The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Guns N' Roses and more during its existence. Now with the new location in Vancouver, the company will continue to expand it's presence throughout the world and attract large amounts of people and revenue for the community.
